Welcome to IHMDP - The Institute of Hypnotherapy for Medical and Dental Practice

Hypnosis has been endorsed on three occasions by the British Medical Association, first in 1892, in 1955, and again in 1982 yet is still largely unavailable to patients, with many health practitioners being unaware of its potential benefits.

During the last 20 years significant advances have been made in clinical and neurological research into hypnotherapy and there is now solid evidence that hypnosis can provide specific medical benefits in the hands of professionally trained practitioners.

The IHMDP is created to encourage the combination of orthodox medicine and the use of Hypnotherapy to provide an improved experience for patients and to provide information for professionals and the general public. The Institute accredits hypnotherapy training courses for healthcare professionals.

The IHMDP includes Dr. John Butler and other established clinical hypnotherapists on its board and is backed by senior professionals in the medical profession.
